Competition of tortilla of Navarre in Zentral of Iruña
In order to commemorate that the tortilla with potatoes was mentioned for the first time in 1817, that is, 200 years ago, the 17th of December a competition of tortillas will take place.
Every peña, bar, restaurant, group or person is invited to participate in the competition, with one tortilla each. There will also be Bertsos and Jotas, as well as a tasting of the tortillas.

About us
This initiative arises from the collaboration between Mikoleta and Kukubat to recover our gastronomic history.
On the one hand Kukubat (http://www.kukubat.eus/en) is a project to encourage the ethno-cultural tourism, and its goal is the people to get to know the Basque Country and Navarre from other perspectives: history, language, mithology, ethnography, sports, culture, gastronomy, etc.
On the other hand the Mikoleta organization has promoted several initiatives in favor of the Basque language. This time it wants to take a close look at the gastronomy and ethnography, for example by updating and spreading some of the typical dishes.
